India Pakistan Agreed To An Immediate Ceasefire: Trump Announced Amid Escalating Tensions
India And Pakistan Agree To A Ceasefire: India and Pakistan have agreed to a ceasefire. This was informed by Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishra after US President Donald Trump’s announcement on X-rays.
Addressing a press conference, he said, “The ceasefire has been in place from 5 pm yesterday (10 May), Indian time. Both sides have agreed not to attack by sea, land, or air. The agreement was reached after the DGMO-level talks between the two countries. The DGMO-level talks were held at 3:35 pm today. The three forces have been informed of the agreement by both countries. The DGMO level talks will be held again on the 12th at noon.”
Trump added, “JD Vance and I have spoken with senior officials from India and Pakistan, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shahbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, Army Chief Asim Munir, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Asim Malik. I am pleased to announce that the governments of India and Pakistan have agreed to an immediate ceasefire and have decided to begin talks on a range of issues at a neutral venue.”
Following Trump’s post, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishra also agreed to a ceasefire. Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishra said in a press briefing that there have been discussions between India and Pakistan on a ceasefire.
Agreeing with the US President’s demand, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also responded on the social media platform X. He wrote – Pakistan and India have agreed to a ceasefire with immediate effect. Pakistan has always strived for peace and security in the region without any objection to its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
