Batting first, India posted a competitive total of 188 runs in 20 overs, losing 8 wickets. Sanju Samson anchored the innings with a composed 56 off 45 balls, supported by brisk contributions from Abhishek Sharma (38), Tilak Verma (29), and Axar Patel (26).
