After Turkey’s support Pakistan, the Indian film industry joins the Turkey boycott, banning all shoots and partnerships
Indian Film Industry Joins Turkey Boycott, Bans All Shoots And Partnerships: The effect of the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan is being seen everywhere. The process of banning Pakistani artists in the Bollywood industry and removing their posters from Hindi songs was still going on, and now another effect is being seen. There is a demand to ban the shooting of Indian films in the countries that supported Pakistan in this situation.
Demand arose to ban in these countries:
After Turkey and Azerbaijan issued statements in support of Pakistan, the Indian film fraternity has urged the industry to refrain from shooting in Turkey. This is in the wake of the Pahalgam attack, Jammu and Kashmir, and India’s Operation Sindoor. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) released a statement on Wednesday, May 14, calling all Indian filmmakers to rethink opting for Turkey as a location for filming in light of increasing popularity of Pakistan on issues concerning India’s national interests.
The statement said, ‘FWICE has always been firm on the belief that ‘nation is supreme’. Given the recent developments and Turkey’s continued stance in support of Pakistan, we believe that the Indian film industry should not invest in these countries in any way. Turkey has shown support to Pakistan, and we cannot let this benefit its tourism now. It further said that the film fraternity needs to stand in solidarity with the nation and boycott Turkey for film shootings until the country reconsiders its diplomatic stance.
Türkiye helped Pakistan
Meanwhile, two Turkish military operatives were killed under Operation Sindoor, which shows that Turkey helped Pakistan in its war against India, not only with over 350 drones but also with operators. Turkish advisers helped Pakistani army officers in carrying out drone attacks on India after Operation Sindoor.
Let us tell you that films like ‘Race 2’, ‘Tiger 3’, and ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ have been shot in Turkey, which boosted tourism in this country and also promoted tourism locations.
