IPL 2025 New Schedule : BCCI’s big announcement The current season of the Indian Premier League has been postponed for a week. This decision has been taken due to India-Pakistan tension. This decision was taken in the BCCI meeting on 9 May.

The official statement said, ‘The IPL Governing Council took this decision after due consultation with all the key stakeholders, with most franchises expressing the concerns and emotions of their players as well as the views of broadcasters, sponsors and fans. The BCCI has full faith in the strength and preparedness of the country’s armed forces. The board considered it appropriate to do so in the collective interest of all stakeholders.’

IPL Match schedule during war –

There were still 12 league matches and 4 knockout matches left to be played in the IPL including the final to be held in Kolkata. The league was to conclude in Kolkata on 25 May. IPL has faced crisis earlier as well. During the Corona period, the IPL matches had to be stopped midway.

The IPL was halted after 29 matches in 2021 and after the match on May 2, the next phase was played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 19. Now the BCCI will try to conduct the remaining 16 matches (12 league and four knockout) of IPL 2025 on time.

A blackout was imposed in several districts of India on Thursday, including Punjab’s Pathankot, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Mohali and the Union Territory of Chandigarh, amid reports of air raid alarms and sounds resembling explosions in Jammu. Earlier in the day, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was shifted to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after Indian drone strikes in Lahore and Rawalpindi, among other cities.

The schedule of IPL 2024 came in two parts because Lok Sabha elections were also being held at the same time. The first part ran from 22 March to 7 April, in which 21 matches were played. After this, when the dates of the elections were decided, the schedule of the remaining matches and playoffs were made and played. This made the tournament happen smoothly and there was no problem of any kind.
