IRCTC To Start ‘Shri Ramayana Yatra’ Train: Covering 30 Sites From July 25: Given the popularity of the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is going to start its fifth special train journey called ‘Shri Ramayan Yatra’ from 25 July 2025. This journey is part of a series started after the ceremony held for the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram temple on 22 January 2024. According to IRCTC, ‘Shri Ramayan Yatra’ will start from 25 July 2025 and will include more than 30 places associated with Lord Rama.
This is the route of the special train
The yatra will start from Ayodhya and will then go to Nandigram, Sitamarhi, Janakpur, Buxar, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Nashik, Hampi, and finally Rameswaram Island in South India. After this, the yatra will return to Delhi and conclude. IRCTC officials said that after the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, religious and cultural tourism has got a big boost. Devotees from all over the country are showing interest in visiting these places.
How much is the fare?
An IRCTC official said, “This is our fifth ‘Ramayana Yatra’ since the inauguration of Ram Mandir. All the earlier yatras received a positive response from the pilgrims.” The fare for the journey has been fixed at Rs 1,17,975 per person for third AC, Rs 1,40,120 for second AC, Rs 1,66,380 for first AC cabin, and Rs 1,79,515 for ‘First AC’ coupe.
You will get pure vegetarian food
The package fare includes train travel, accommodation in three-star hotels (for all categories), pure vegetarian food, travel & sightseeing by air-conditioned buses, travel insurance, and services of an IRCTC travel manager.
These special facilities will be given
According to a press release issued by IRCTC, this journey will start from Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway Station and will be operated through the ‘Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train’ with modern facilities. This train will have facilities like two restaurants, a modern kitchen, shower cubicles in the coach, sensor-based toilets, foot massager. It will have the facility of travelling in ‘First, Second, and Third AC’ categories. For security, CCTV cameras and security personnel will be deployed in each coach.
The journey will start from Ayodhya
He said that the yatra will start from Ayodhya, where the devotees will visit Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Hanumangarhi and Ram Ki Paidi (Saryu Ghat). He said that after this, Bharat Mandir in Nandigram will be visited. The official said that the next stop will be Sitamarhi in Bihar, where the pilgrims will visit Sita Ji’s birthplace and Ram Janaki temple in Janakpur, Nepal.
The journey to Chitrakoot will be done by road
After this, people will be taken to Ramrekha Ghat and Rameshwarnath Temple in Buxar, Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Tulsi Temple, Sankat Mochan Temple in Varanasi, and will also see Ganga Aarti. IRCTC said that after this, the passengers will be taken to Prayag, Shringverpur, and Chitrakoot by road, in which night stay will also be arranged.
This train will go to these religious places in Maharashtra
IRCTC said that after this, the train will reach Nashik in Maharashtra, where the Trimbakeshwar temple and Panchvati area will be shown. After this, a tour of Anjanadri mountain (birthplace of Hanuman ji), Vitthal and Virupaksha temples will be conducted in Hampi. The last stop of the train journey will be Rameswaram, which includes Ramanathaswamy temple and Dhanushkodi. The journey will end on the 17th day by returning to Delhi. (With inputs from Bhasha)
