Kantara Chapter 1 Trailer Out: Rishabh Shetty Leads Stunning Prequel Epic: The much-awaited trailer for Kantara Chapter 1, one of 2025’s most anticipated films, has finally dropped—and it’s every bit as intense and mysterious as fans hoped. A prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara, the film dives deeper into the mythological world that captivated audiences three years ago. Written and directed by Rishabh Shetty, who also plays the lead role, the film promises a gripping experience packed with suspense and spiritual mystique.
The 2-minute and 56-second trailer opens in the forest where Shiva (played by Shetty) disappeared in the previous film. Shetty appears in a striking new avatar as Berme, while Gulshan Devaiah impresses as the enigmatic village Maharaja Kulshekhar. Rukmini Vasanth also plays a pivotal role, and the trailer subtly hints at complex power dynamics, ancient beliefs, and divine conflict—all while keeping the plot under wraps. The visual grandeur and haunting background score have already made fans hail the trailer as a sure-shot blockbuster.
Kantara Chapter 1 is set to release in theaters on October 2, 2025, under the Hombale Films banner. Interestingly, it will clash at the box office with Sunny Sanskari’s Tulsi Kumari, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor.
