When does one get the insurance benefit?
On taking an LPG, i.e., cooking gas connection, petroleum companies provide personal accident cover to the customer. This insurance of up to Rs 50 lakh is given as financial help in situations like accidents due to gas leakage or blasts from LPG cylinders. The special thing is that oil marketing companies provide the benefit of this facility to all the customers buying gas cylinders.
Along with this, personal accident cover is given for loss of life and property due to an accident due to an LPG cylinder at the customer’s home. If the customer’s property/house is damaged in the accident, then an insurance claim of up to Rs 2 lakh is available per accident.

– A maximum of Rs 10 lakh compensation can be given to each person suffering from the accident.
– In case of death, a claim of Rs 6 lakh per person is given as personal accident cover.
– A maximum of Rs 30 lakh is given as medical expenses. In this, Rs 2 lakh is given per person.
How to get the claim and what is the process
– After the accident, inform the nearest police station and your LPG distributor.
– Then the company related to the concerned area will investigate the cause of the accident
– If the accident has happened due to LPG cylinder, then the distributor or area office informs the insurance company about it
– After the investigation report, the claim is filed in the company.
– The customer does not need to contact the company directly.
Keep these documents with you
To get the claim, the victim should keep a copy of the FIR, treatment prescriptions and medical bills of the injured, as well as the postmortem report and death certificate in case of death.
