Major Earthquake Hits Japan, Tsunami Warning Issued

Japan issues tsunami warning after 7.6 magnitude earthquake

Strong earthquake in Japan. Tsunami alert issued. A 7.2 magnitude earthquake has struck off the north coast. The earthquake was felt near Aomori, Honshu Island and Hokkaido Island. A tsunami warning has been issued for coastal areas with a height of up to 10 feet.

Several people were reported injured at a hotel in Aomori city. Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said the government was prepared for a disaster. Safety checks are underway at nuclear power plants in the area.
