Manipur suspends internet in 5 districts after Meitei leaders’ arrest
Manipur Govt Suspends Internet Services In 5 Districts For 5 Days: Violence has erupted again in Manipur. Curfew has been imposed in the Bishnupur district due to violent protests. Meanwhile, internet services have been suspended in five districts for five days from Saturday night.
The leader of the Meitei community, Arambai Tenggol, has been arrested. It is understood that there has been unrest after the arrest. It is understood that Home Secretary N. Ashok Kumar has taken this decision in view of the unrest.

The five districts of Manipur where internet services have been suspended are Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Bishnupur and Kakching. The situation in Manipur has deteriorated after the arrest of the Maithai leader. After which people went out to protest and burned tires and old furniture on the roads, increasing the tension. Therefore, curfew has been imposed and internet and mobile data services have been suspended for five days for security reasons.
On the other hand, the administration has also made it clear that strict action will be taken against people who violate the imposed orders.
