Massive Fire Breaks Out In 24-Storey Residential Building: 1 Dead, 18 Injured: A tragic fire broke out in a 24-storey residential building in Dahisar, North Mumbai, resulting in the death of a woman and injuries to 18 others. The fire, which was confined to the fourth floor, prompted a swift response from the fire brigade and police, with 36 residents rescued from the building. According to officials, 19 people were hospitalized, including seven at Rohit Hospital, where one woman succumbed to her injuries and another victim remains in critical condition. Ten others were admitted to Northern Care Hospital, and one each to Pragati Hospital and Shatabdi Hospital. Firefighters managed to control the blaze by 4:30 PM and fully extinguished it by 6 PM, with cooling operations still underway. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
18 people were rescued
Officials said, “36 people living in the building were rescued, of which 19 were taken to various hospitals. Of the seven people admitted to Rohit Hospital, one woman died, while a man is in critical condition. The condition of the other victims is stable. Of the injured, ten were taken to Northern Care Hospital and one each to Pragati Hospital and Shatabdi Hospital run by the municipal corporation.”
Firefighters brought the fire under control
Fire officials said that the fire brigade brought the fire under control by 4:30 pm. After this, the fire was completely extinguished by 6 pm. The workers are continuing the cooling operation. The workers said that the fire was limited to the fourth floor. An investigation is being conducted to find out how the fire started.
