More Than 11 Laws Will Be Changed In UP, There Will Be No Jail For These Crime : The Uttar Pradesh government is going to introduce a bill through which more than 11 laws will be amended and they will be decriminalised. The government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh has prepared to make changes in more than 11 laws including excise and forest. The Chief Minister’s Office has given this information . The Chief Minister’s Office said in a statement that the CM discussed the provisions of the ‘Sugamya Vyapar (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025’ in a high-level meeting and gave necessary instructions. The Chief Minister said that taking new steps to further strengthen #EaseofDoingBusiness is the need of the hour. At the same time, it is equally important that along with industrial development, the safety and convenience of workers is guaranteed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi , imbibing the spirit of ‘Shramev Jayate’, we have to make such reforms which will prove beneficial for both workers and entrepreneurs.

During this, the Chief Minister said that the need of the hour is to eliminate unnecessary punitive provisions and replace them with a transparent and fair system. After seriously considering the objections and suggestions, the ‘Sugamy Trade (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025’ should be given such a form that strikes a balance between the interests of industry and workers. To bring transparency in the inspection system, the system of self-verification and third party audit should be adopted. While these reforms will reduce the burden of industries, the interests of workers will also be protected.
What is the plan of Yogi government behind bringing this bill?
The Chief Minister’s Office informed through the CMO’s official account on social media site X that as per the instructions of CM Yogi Adityanath , the UP government is soon going to bring the ‘Sugamy Vyapar (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025’. Under this, many laws including the Excise Act, Molasses Act, Tree Protection Act, Revenue Code, Sugarcane Act, Ground Water Act, Municipal Corporation Act, Plastic Waste Disposal Act, Cinema Act and Area and District Panchayat Act will be given a more practical form. Where earlier there was a provision of imprisonment, now there is a plan to give priority to more financial penalty and administrative action.
The CMO said that as per the instructions of CM Yogi, preparations are being made to abolish about 99% of the criminal provisions in 13 state acts related to industry and trade in the state. Soon, Uttar Pradesh is going to become the first state in the country, which will convert criminal provisions on such a large scale into non-criminal category from the point of view of practicality.
