Most Deadly Plane Crashes In 2025 Till Now: Air travel is becoming the death knell for people. 499 people have lost their lives in this journey, which is considered to be the safest in the last 7 months. This year, 499 people have died in plane crashes in just 7 months. On average, more than 2 people are losing their lives in air travel every day. On Thursday, another big accident happened in Russia when an Angara Airlines plane crashed. There were 49 passengers on board. It is expected that all of them have died.
There has been an increase in air accidents in every country from India to Russia and from Britain to America. This figure has been increasing continuously in the last few years, and many serious accidents have also occurred in these. According to IATA i.e., International Air Transport Association, the number of people who lost their lives in plane accidents from 2021 to July 24 this year is 1099, out of which 499 people have lost their lives this year. This is also scary because if we talk about last year, 244 people lost their lives in 12 months, but this year so far, in just 7 months, the death toll has more than doubled and reached almost 500.
The Ahmedabad plane crash was the biggest accident
The biggest accident of 2025 happened in Ahmedabad, where the plane crashed just after takeoff. This accident happened on 12 June. The flight was going from Ahmedabad to London, in which 240 people were on board, only one person survived the accident. Apart from this, a large number of deaths also occurred in the building with which the plane collided. A total of 260 people were confirmed dead in this accident. The accident was so horrific that only the remains of the bodies of the deceased were left, which were handed over to their families after DNA testing.
Major accidents in 2025 year till now
- At the beginning of the year, an American Airlines plane collided with a US Army helicopter near Washington. 67 people were killed in this accident on January 29. These included three crew members in the helicopter.
- On the same day, in the African country of Sudan, a charter plane carrying 21 people met with an accident shortly after taking off. 20 people died in the accident.
- On January 30, another accident happened in America, where an air ambulance met with an accident in Philadelphia. 8 people lost their lives in this accident.
- On February 7, a Bering Air flight went missing in Alaska. There were 10 people on board the plane, and all of them died. The wreckage of the plane was later found.
- A charter plane crashed into the sea in Honduras. The plane broke the runway. 13 people died in the accident. There were a total of 18 people on board the plane, including the crew. The wreckage of this plane was found about 1 km inside the sea.
- On April 10, a helicopter met with an accident in New Jersey, USA. It fell into the Hudson River. 5 passengers died in the accident.
- On May 3, the Sudanese army shot down a cargo Boeing 737-290 C in the city of Nyala. It is suspected that the plane was carrying weapons for the rebel Rapid Support Forces involved in the civil war. 20 people were killed in the accident.
- On May 22, a military plane crashed in San Diego, USA, killing 6 people on board. On July 13, a charter plane crashed just after takeoff from an airport in Essex, UK, killing 4 people.
- On 21 July, an Air Force fighter jet met with an accident in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. The plane collided with a building in a college campus, killing 29 people.
- On 24 July, an Antonov AN-24 passenger plane crashed. There were about 50 people on board the plane.
