Mother Dairy cuts milk, paneer, butter, ghee prices to pass on GST rate cut benefits
Milk prices have become cheaper. Mother Dairy on Tuesday reduced the price of its milk, which has reassured its customers. However, the new GST rate is going to be implemented from September 22, but even before that, the company has reduced the price of its packaged milk by up to Rs 2 per liter. Mother Dairy has reduced the price of its 1 liter tetra pack of milk from Rs 77 to Rs 75. Apart from this, the prices of other items including ghee and cheese have also come down.

You may be well aware that the government announced GST reforms on September 3 and announced tax reduction on all essential commodities. The Finance Minister said that the new GST rates will be implemented from September 22 and everything from milk, cheese to ACs, TVs will become cheaper. Even before this is implemented, Mother Dairy has reduced the prices of its milk products.
After the company reduced the price of milk, a 450-gram packet will now be available for Rs 32 instead of Rs 33. In addition, the price of the company’s 180-gram milkshake pack of all flavors has also been reduced from Rs 30 to Rs 28. Similarly, the price of a 200-gram packet of paneer will now be Rs 92 instead of Rs 95. In addition, the price of a 400-gram packet of paneer will now be Rs 174 instead of Rs 180.
The revised prices are as under:
- Milkshakes: ₹28 vs ₹30 earlier
- Paneer (200 gm): ₹92 vs ₹95 earlier
- Butter (100 gm): ₹58 vs ₹62 earlier
- Cow Ghee (1 litre): ₹720 vs ₹750 earlier
After the price reduction by Mother Dairy, consumers will now get the company’s butter and ghee at a cheaper price. 500 grams of butter will be available at Rs 285 instead of Rs 305, while 100 grams of butter tikki will be available at Rs 58 instead of Rs 62. If we look at the price reduction of ghee, the price of a 1-litre carton pack has been reduced from Rs 675 to Rs 645, while the 500 ml pack has been reduced from Rs 345 to Rs 330. The price of a 1-litre tin pack of ghee has been reduced by Rs 30 per litre and has come down from Rs 750 to Rs 720.
- Frozen french fries (400 gm): ₹95 vs ₹100 earlier
- Frozen aloo tikki (400 gm): ₹85 vs ₹90 earlier
- Frozen nuggets (300 gm): ₹110 vs ₹105 earlier
- Coconut water (200 ml): ₹50 vs ₹55 earlier
- Mixed fruit jam (500 gm): ₹165 vs ₹180 earlier
Ice cream price also reduce-
Not only has the price of milk, cheese, butter and ghee been reduced, but Mother Dairy has also reduced the price of ice cream. After the price reduction, the company’s 45 gram ice candy, 50 ml vanilla cup, 30 ml chocobar have been reduced from Rs 10 to Rs 9. The price of 100 ml choco vanilla and butterscotch cone has been reduced from Rs 30 to Rs 25 and from Rs 35 to Rs 30 respectively.
