Odia Music Icon Humane Sagar Passes Away: Odisha Mourns a Golden Voice: Odisha mourns the loss of one of its most beloved singers, Humane Sagar, fondly known as “the magician of the lost voice.” He passed away recently at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, after months of battling severe health complications.

Born on April 21, 1909, in Titilagarh, Balangir district, Human Sagar later settled in CDA-9, Cuttack. Guided by renowned music director Prem Anand, he grew into a voice that would eventually rule Odisha’s music industry for more than a decade. He married Shriya Mishra in 2017.

A Journey From Rejection to Stardom

Humane’s early musical journey was far from easy. Before fame embraced him, he spent countless hours waiting at various singing studios, hoping for a chance that never came. His breakthrough began when he participated in the programme Ameri Vaara on a private channel, followed by his entry into the reality show Voice of Odisha, where he emerged as the winner in 2012.

This victory transformed his destiny. He soon received his first playback opportunities in films such as Something Something Part 2, Prema Heehi Re, and Isak Tu Hi Tu. Listeners across Odisha were mesmerized by the warmth and depth of his voice, making him an overnight sensation.

Humane Sagar was celebrated for his versatility—capable of rendering romantic melodies, heart-wrenching sad songs, or energetic beats with equal mastery.

For the past six months, Humane’s health had been declining. Despite undergoing dialysis at a private Cuttack hospital, he continued singing, prioritizing his fans over his own well-being. As his condition worsened, he was shifted to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, where he ultimately took his final breath.
