Big decision in the cabinet meeting. The upper age limit in the Odisha Civil Services has been increased to 42 years. Which was earlier 32 years. The cabinet has decided to amend the Odisha Civil Services Rules, 1989. That is, the age limit in government jobs has been increased to 42 years. However, this will not be applicable in the uniformed services of police, forest, excise, fire etc. Not only that, but the upper age limit will be relaxed in the case of SC, ST, backward classes, women, differently abled persons and retired soldiers as per the rules issued by the government from time to time.

The state cabinet met in a new format yesterday. Except for the Chief Secretary, no secretary sat in the cabinet meeting. Five major decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister. The age limit will be increased and startups in the AI sector will be encouraged. The AI policy has been approved, AI mission and AI cell will be started in the state. Similarly, the cabinet has approved the improvement work of Mahaji Gadi at Joranda in Dhenkanal and the construction of a vacant mandap. In addition, it has been ordered to complete the work within 36 months. JSW in Jagatsinghpur will build its own jetty, for which the cabinet has approved the agreement between the state government and JSW. 3450 people will be directly and indirectly employed. The state cabinet has approved the proposal to create 141 new posts for the Odisha Eye Service.
