Odisha Government Changes School Teacher And Students ‘I-Card’ with New Colors And Logo : The state government has introduced new identity cards (i-cards) for primary school teachers and students from the current academic year (2025-26). Tenders have been invited by the All Education Project Coordinators at the district level for the preparation of i-cards in the prescribed format with the ‘logo’ of the Central Government’s PM Shri Yojana. The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has directed that the students in government and aided primary schools of the state be provided with ‘house uniform’ and ‘cap’ with the words ‘Vidyavant Vidyarthi, Bikshith Odisha’ written on it.

School Teacher And Students I-Card Changes

It has been revealed that the government will provide students from class 1 to 8 with this new i-card, uniform, branding, cap, jeeta-socks etc. It has also been reported that guidelines have been issued stating that without this i-card, entry into the school premises will not be allowed. However, the opposition parties have been attacking the government over the colour of this i-card (it will be made in ochre).

During the BJD government, the slogan ‘We will build a new Odisha’ was written on the children’s house uniforms and caps. But this time the logo has been changed to ‘Vidyavant Vidyarthi, Bikashit Odisha’. The color of the children’s caps will remain white and the logo along with the slogan will be on it.

The government has decided to implement a new i-card from the current academic year. For this, the tender process has also started at the district level. The i-card or identity card will be completely in Odia language. It will have the state government and PM Shri logos along with the name and address of the school, the name and category (section) and roll number of the students, date of birth, blood group, father and mother’s name, mobile phone number, Aadhaar number and address. This identity card will also have the signature of the principal. This identity card has been made mandatory for entry into the school premises.

Children will get track pants, T-shirts and ‘house uniforms’
To make the students of classes 1 to 8 in government and aided schools disciplined and organized, the government has introduced various ‘house uniforms’ like those in private schools. Unlike last year, there has been no change in the house colors of the uniforms. But for the first time, a cap has been included in it from the current academic year.

Under this new scheme, a cap will be given which will have the slogan ‘Vidyavant Vidyarthi, Vikashit Odisha’ and the Ashok Chakra logo. Students of primary schools will be provided with ‘House Uniform’. This uniform will have special designs on the sides and front of the track pants, which will give the students a beautiful and dignified look. The track pants will be blue in color and the T-shirt will be available in four colors – yellow, green, red and blue.
