BCCI will take action against Pakistan
Sunil Gavaskar believes that many things have changed after the Pahalgam attack. In such a situation, it seems impossible for Pakistan to participate in the Asia Cup. According to him, BCCI has always followed the orders of the Indian government and the same can be seen in the Asia Cup as well.

Gavaskar said, “The BCCI’s stance has always been to do what the Indian government asks them to do. So I don’t think there will be any change in the case of Asia Cup. India and Sri Lanka are hosting this edition of Asia Cup. So I don’t see Pakistan being a part of Asia Cup now.” However, he definitely said that a lot will depend on how the relations between the two countries are in the next two months.

ACC may be dissolved
According to Sunil Gavaskar, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) can be dissolved to exclude Pakistan. This means that the future of ACC is also in danger and if the situation does not improve, it will cease to exist. He believes that instead of Asia Cup, a tournament can be played between only 3 or 4 countries.

Regarding Pakistan’s exclusion, he said, “I don’t know how it will happen. Maybe the ACC is dissolved, and you can tour only three countries, which could be a three-nation tournament, or a four-nation tournament in which Hong Kong or UAE could be invited. But it depends on what happens in the next few months.”
