Ayodhya Historic Ceremony: PM Modi to Hoist Saffron Flag at Shri Ram Temple Today
Ayodhya is witnessing an atmosphere of grand celebration as preparations reach their peak for the religious flag hoisting ceremony at the Shri Ram Temple. Since early morning, thousands of devotees have thronged the temple complex, turning the holy city into a vibrant hub of devotion and festivity.
The saffron flag, an equilateral triangular symbol of divinity and valor, will be hoisted atop the temple peak at 12 noon, marking the final emblem of the temple’s construction. The flag stands 10 feet tall, featuring a bright sun symbolizing the glory and bravery of Lord Ram, along with the sacred symbol ‘Om’ and the Kovida tree.
PM Modi to Lead the Ceremony
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Ayodhya today to take part in the historic event. In view of his visit, Uttar Pradesh Police have significantly tightened security across the city, keeping in mind the massive influx of devotees.
According to the schedule, the Prime Minister will:
- Arrive at the Sambhavani Temple around 10 am,
- Visit the Waryavatar Temple, followed by
- A darshan at the Mata Annapurna Temple at 11 am,
- Offer prayers at the Ram Darbar’s garbhagriha, and
- Have darshan of Ram Lalla before proceeding to the flag hoisting ceremony.
Special Attire for Ram Lalla
For this momentous occasion, Lord Shri Ram will be adorned in a yellow outfit embroidered with gold, accompanied by a pashmina shawl. These specially designed clothes reached Ayodhya from Dharmavaram, Satya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh, renowned for its traditional craftsmanship.
Ram Darbar Installed in Temple Complex
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Ram Darbar has been majestically installed within the temple complex. The immersive statues depict Lord Shri Ram, Mata Sita, along with Lakshman, Bharat, and Hanuman, enriching the spiritual experience for pilgrims arriving from across the country.
A Day of Devotion and Historic Significance
As the saffron flag ascends atop the magnificent temple, it will symbolize the completion of the long-awaited construction of the Shri Ram Temple—an emotional and historic moment for millions of devotees worldwide.
