Qatar Airways Flight QR816 Makes Emergency Landing in Ahmedabad After Mid-Air Technical Glitch: Qatar Airways flight QR816, traveling from Doha to Hong Kong, made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Tuesday afternoon. The flight took off from Hamad International Airport in Doha around 9 a.m. and landed safely in Ahmedabad at 2:40 p.m., following a mid-air technical issue.
An airport official confirmed that the diversion to Ahmedabad was a precautionary measure due to the technical problem. A full emergency was declared at 2:12 p.m. to ensure passenger safety, and it was lifted soon after the successful landing. The official stated, “The plane landed safely. A decision on resuming the journey will be made only after a thorough investigation.”
An airport spokesperson further clarified that normal airport operations were not affected during the emergency. Passengers onboard the flight were reported to be safe, and ground staff coordinated necessary assistance as the aircraft underwent inspection.
