New 20-rupee notes will be issued soon, RBI announced
RBI to issue Rs 20 notes with new Governor Sanjay Malhotra’s signature: The Reserve Bank of India will soon issue a new Rs 20 note. The bank gave information about this on Saturday. It was said that the new note will have the signature of Governor Sanjay Malhotra. The design of these notes will be similar to the Rs 20 notes of the Mahatma Gandhi New Series in every way.
Along with this, the RBI said that after the release of new 20-rupee notes, the old notes will remain in circulation. This means that the notes which are already in circulation will not be discontinued. Rather, new notes will be included in them. There will be no restriction on the circulation of old notes.
What will be the design of the new 20 rupees note
The design of the new note may be slightly different from the current note, you may get to see some new features and colors in it. Mahatma Gandhi’s picture will be seen more clearly than before in the note, and the watermark, security thread, and number pattern will be strengthened further.
Why are new notes coming?
The objective of the Reserve Bank of India is to keep the currency safe and to prevent any fraud. Also, to protect against fake notes. That is why the RBI issues new notes from time to time, and along with this, even after the appointment of a new governor, notes are issued with his signature.
Do I need to exchange old 20 rupees notes?
There will be no need to exchange old notes. Nor will they have to be deposited in banks. When new notes are issued, you will be able to use both new and old notes. New notes will reach you through banks and ATMs. Overall, after the release of new 20-rupee notes by the RBI, neither the old 20-rupee notes will be discontinued nor will there be any need to deposit them anywhere.
