Chasing a target of 228 runs, Bengaluru scored 230 runs in 18.4 overs. Virat Kohli scored 54 runs, while Jitesh Sharma scored 85 runs and May scored 41 runs.
With RCB’s win, the IPL playoff round is confirmed. Punjab will face RCB in the first qualifier on May 29. Similarly, Gujarat will face Mumbai in the eliminator on May 30.
Bengaluru won the toss and elected to bowl first. Batting first, Lucknow started their innings cautiously with Mitchell Marsh and Mathew Bryce. After Bryce was dismissed for just 14 runs, a good partnership was seen between captain Rishabh Pant and Marsh. Pant in particular, showed his old explosive batting. He scored an unbeaten 118 runs in just 61 balls. He hit 8 sixes and 11 fours in his innings. Marsh scored 67 runs. Nicholas Pooran scored 13 runs. Lucknow scored 227 runs in the allotted 20 overs. For RCB, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Nuwan Thushara and Romario Shepherd took one wicket each.
