Sarzameen swings between the complicated relationship of father and son and the sacrifice of the mother

Sarzameen Review : A story of the complicated relationship between father and son, where the mother surprises the most. Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan starrer ‘Sarzameen’ is streaming on Jio-Hotstar. The film is directed by Kayoze Irani. Dharma Productions and Star Studios have jointly produced it. So now without any delay, what is the story of this drama film and how well it has lived up to its standards, let us tell you.
What does the story say?

The thing is very clear – like every army father wants his son to become a bigger officer than him, to be the smartest, and when people see him they just say, ‘Wow, look this is so and so’s son. He will surpass his father too.’ Prithviraj Sukumaran i.e. Colonel Vijay Menon also wants something similar. But his son Ibrahim Ali Khan i.e. Harman Menon is completely opposite to this. He does not have even a little self- confidence, he also stutters. And then there is a mother Kajol i.e. Meher who has forgotten everything in love for her son. She just wants to protect him.
Now with the thought that his son is weak, Vijay does not even talk to Harman properly, and he is also ashamed of his son in public. The mother is trying every moment to improve the relationship between father and son. But in the meantime, Vijay catches two terrorists, and to free them, the terrorists kidnap his son. And this is where the emotional tug of war begins.

While you are still getting over the emotions of Prithviraj Sukumaran who plays the father , Kajol brings such a twist in the role of the mother in the climax of the film that it is really surprising. In the second half, Harman has become a terrorist with six pack abs but Colonel Vijay brings him home comfortably, his mother takes care of him. Vijay is suspicious of his son but his own army colleagues stop him from doing so.

The film clashes on two aspects

Now look at the story, it is very small but it is completely based on patriotism and the way the army works, or rather ethics. There are two aspects to watching this film – if you watch it with a lot of emotions, then you might like this relationship between father and son and the sacrifice of the mother. But if you think that it is a patriotism based film – then you will feel cheated. You might feel that when, what, how, anything is happening. This does not happen in the army. Anyway, the makers themselves have not put it in the category of patriotism, they are just taking a hint. So let it go.

The story of the film is clear, but it has not been able to go deep. Some scenes make you emotional, and the very next moment you will convince yourself that anything is being shown in the film. Kayoje’s direction is also fine, but in between the grip of the film seems to be very loose.
