SRK’s ‘King’ Becomes India’s Most Expensive Action Film at ₹350 Crore
Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’ Set to Be India’s Biggest Action Film Yet with ₹350 Crore Budget: Bollywood’s King Khan is back, and this time he’s returning in grand style. After delivering two blockbusters and a hit, Shah Rukh Khan is now gearing up for his next mega project, King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film’s first look, revealed on SRK’s birthday, created a storm among fans. Adding to the excitement, his daughter Suhana Khan will also be seen in a key role, making it one of the most anticipated father-daughter collaborations in Bollywood.
Originally conceived as a project with a cameo appearance by Shah Rukh Khan, King was first planned under producer Sujoy Ghosh with a modest budget of ₹150 crore. However, as the script evolved, SRK stepped into the lead role, and Siddharth Anand took over the directorial reins. Together, they transformed the film into a high-octane action spectacle, promising visuals and sequences never seen before in Indian cinema.
Reports suggest that Shah Rukh Khan gave Siddharth Anand complete creative freedom, pushing the film’s budget to a whopping ₹350 crore. Designed as a “global film made in India,” King aims to compete with international standards at a fraction of Hollywood’s costs. The film will feature six major action sequences, meticulously choreographed to deliver edge-of-the-seat excitement.
Out of these, three sequences have been shot on real locations across the globe, while the other three are being filmed on grand, specially constructed sets. The opening scene, reportedly one of the most expensive ever shot in Indian cinema, will be the film’s showstopper. With such scale and ambition, King is set for a 2026 release and is already being touted as the next big chapter in Shah Rukh Khan’s legendary career.
