Then Shahrukh and Vetrimaran met after the release of the film ‘Asuran’. However, even at that time, this meeting was not for any film.
Vetrimaran said about the remake of ‘Asuran’ film:
In an interview given to the Tamil magazine Vikatan in 2019, Vetrimaran himself said, “It was a courtesy call that lasted for about two hours. We discussed many things, including ‘Asuran’. But we did not talk about the remake of ‘Asuran’.”
‘Asuran’ is an action-drama film made in the Tamil language. It was based on the novel ‘Vekkai’ written by Poomani. Apart from Dhanush, the film also featured Manju Warrier, Prakash Raj, Aadukalam Naren, and Pashupati. The film was a box office success. It also won the Best Feature Film and Best Actor awards at the 67th National Film Awards. It was also screened at the 78th Golden Globe Awards. Although a Hindi version of ‘Asuran’ may not have been made yet, a Telugu version named ‘Narappa’ was made in 2021.
As far as Shah Rukh is concerned, he is currently busy shooting for ‘King’. It is being directed by Siddharth Anand. Apart from Shah Rukh, it also has a huge star cast like Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Jackie Shroff, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Saurabh Shukla, Raghav Juyal, and Anil Kapoor. This will be a mega-budget action film that is being produced by both Shah Rukh and Siddharth. According to reports, the makers are planning to release this movie on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti in 2026.
