This squad is outside the playoff running:
Once the match between the two teams was postponed, the Sunrisers Hyderabad team is out of the playoff contention. Sunrisers Hyderabad needed to win this match at any cost to remain in the season. But this was not possible. Only one innings could be played in this match, and then heavy rain ruined all the fun. Because of this, last season’s finalist escaped the league stage this season. Sunrisers Hyderabad has played 11 games till now this season, and it stands at 8th position with 7 points. That means now it can’t make it to the top 4.
Sunrisers Hyderabad bowled superbly:
In this match, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bowl first, and it turned out to be correct. Pat Cummins took a wicket on the match’s first ball. He never stopped even thereafter and took as many as 3 batsmen in the powerplay. The beginning of Delhi was so dismal that half of the team members went back to the pavilion at 29 runs. After that, Tristan Stubbs, Vipraaj Nigam, and Ashutosh Sharma played attack-minded innings. Vipraaj Nigam made 18 runs, and Ashutosh Sharma made 41 runs. Meanwhile, Tristan Stubbs scored an unbeaten innings of 41 runs, because of which Delhi’s team was able to score 133 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.

In such a case, it was thought that the Sunrisers Hyderabad team would easily get this target, but as soon as the first innings got over, rain disrupted the innings. The ground became flooded with water due to heavy rain. Then the umpire canceled the match. Delhi has thus gained somewhere, or else it might have lost two points. Delhi has 13 points after 11 matches, and it is still in the playoff contention.
