SSC CGL Notification 2025 OUT: What is SSC CGL 2025?
SSC CGL, i.e., Combined Graduate Level Exam, is held every year for Group B and C posts in the Central Government. This time, 14,582 vacancies have come out, which will be filled in different ministries and departments. The exam will be computer-based, and the Tier-1 exam will be held from 13 August to 30 August 2025. Tier-2 will be held in December 2025.
SSC CGL Vacancy 2025: What are the posts?
There are many types of posts in this recruitment, which are in different ministries. Some popular posts are-
Assistant Section Officer: Central Secretariat Service, IB, Railway Ministry, Ministry of External Affairs.
Income Tax Inspector: CBDT (Central Board of Direct Taxes).
Central Excise Inspector, Preventive Officer, Examiner: CBIC (Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs).
Assistant Enforcement Officer: Enforcement Directorate (ED), Revenue Department.
Sub-Inspector: CBI, NIA, Central Narcotics Bureau.
Junior Statistical Officer: Ministry of Statistics.
Auditor, Accountant: CAG, CGDA, and other ministries.
Tax Assistant, Postal Assistant: CBDT, CBIC, Department of Posts.
Senior Secretariat Assistant: Central Government Offices.

Educational Qualification:
- Most of the posts require a graduation degree in any subject.
- For Junior Statistical Officer: Graduation with at least 60% marks in Maths in 12th.
- For Statistical Investigator (Grade-II): Graduation should have one of the subjects, Economics, Statistics, or Maths as compulsory or optional.
Age Limit:
– 18-27 years for some posts, 18-30 years for some, 18-32 years for some, and 20-30 years for some.
– OBC will get 3 years relaxation, SC/ST will get 5 years relaxation. PwD and Ex-Servicemen are also exempted.
What is the exam pattern for SSC CGL?
SSC CGL exam will be held in two stages-
Tier-1: From 13 August to 30 August 2025. This will be an objective-type exam, which will have questions of General Intelligence, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English, and General Awareness.
Tier-2: In December 2025. There will also be multiple-choice questions in this, but topics will be covered in a little depth. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of Tier-2.
How much will the fees be?
- General, OBC, EWS: Rs 100.
- SC, ST, PwD, Ex-Servicemen, and Women: Free.
If there is any mistake in the form, you can correct it - For first time correction: Rs 200.
- For the second time correction: Rs 500.
