Train Travel Gets Costlier : Railways Increases Ticket Prices

A big shock for railway passengers at the end of the year. Train travel has become even more expensive. Ticket prices have increased. From general to AC class, the railways have increased ticket prices. The burden on the pockets of passengers has increased. Especially passengers traveling long distances will have to spend more.

According to the new fares, the fare has been increased by 1 paise per kilometre for journeys of more than 215 km in general class. In mail and express trains, the fare has been increased by 2 paise per kilometre for non-AC and 2 paise per kilometre for AC class. Similarly, for journeys of more than 500 km in non-AC, an additional Rs 10 will have to be paid. The new fares will be implemented from the 26th.

The Indian Railways is expected to earn Rs 600 crore this year from the increased fares. However, there is no increase in local train and monthly tickets. According to the new rates, there will be no additional charge for a journey of 215 km in ordinary class.
Trains are a major means of transportation in our country. From the poor to the common man, everyone travels by train to reach their destination every day. However, the increase in train fares at the end of the year is a shock to the passengers.
