Trump’s Big Announcement: Visa Ban On Central Americans Acting On Behalf Of China: U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has announced a new visa restriction policy targeting Central American citizens who undermine the rule of law in the region on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The move is seen as a significant step by Washington to counter China’s growing influence in Central America.
According to Rubio, the policy applies to individuals who knowingly direct, fund, authorize, or support activities benefiting the CCP that weaken democratic institutions. Visa bans have already been enforced against several individuals under this new rule, and their immediate family members will also be barred from entering the U.S.
Rubio emphasized that this reflects President Donald Trump’s commitment to national security and economic prosperity. He stated the U.S. will continue using “all available measures” to protect the region from foreign interference.
Rubio made this announcement while visiting Ecuador, where he met with President Daniel Noboa Azin and U.S. officials to discuss organized crime and illegal immigration.
