Claims of US Operation in Venezuela Emerge, Maduro Arrest Remains Unconfirmed
Unverified Reports Claim US Operation Led to Arrest of Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro: Unverified reports circulating across international media and social platforms claim that the United States carried out a large-scale military operation against Venezuela, allegedly resulting in the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. According to these reports, the operation was executed swiftly, with Maduro reportedly captured within 30 minutes after months of preparation.
The alleged mission, referred to in reports as “Operation Absolute Resolve,” was said to have been planned and rehearsed extensively. Sources cited in these accounts claim the operation concluded in under half an hour, bringing an abrupt end to Maduro’s leadership within hours. At the same time, US President Donald Trump was reportedly active on social media on Friday morning, posting about his health while the operation was reaching its final phase.
According to claims attributed to unnamed US officials, American intelligence agencies had been closely monitoring Maduro’s daily movements in the days leading up to the operation. These reports allege that surveillance included tracking his habits and residence, with preparations involving the construction of a replica of his home for training purposes.
US Military Operation Against Venezuela Reported, Maduro’s Arrest Not Confirmed
The reports further claim that power was cut in parts of a Venezuelan city during the operation, allegedly to limit resistance. Military sources quoted in these accounts said US forces waited several days for favorable weather conditions before proceeding, launching the mission overnight after presidential authorization.
Unverified details also suggest that more than 150 US aircraft entered Venezuelan airspace after disabling air defense systems, while helicopters flew at low altitude to avoid detection. Special forces were reportedly deployed to the location where Maduro was staying.
According to these claims, Maduro and his wife were intercepted before reaching a secure safe room and were later transported by helicopter to a US warship before being flown to the United States. The reports allege that the Trump administration intends to prosecute Maduro in New York. Images purportedly showing Maduro blindfolded and restrained have circulated online, though their authenticity has not been independently verified.
In later statements attributed to US officials, it was claimed that some American personnel were injured during the operation, with no confirmed fatalities. However, Venezuelan officials have reportedly disputed this, alleging civilian and military casualties.
The alleged operation has drawn sharp criticism. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani condemned the reported action, calling it “an act of war” and a violation of international law.
As of now, there has been no independent confirmation from the US or Venezuelan governments regarding these claims. Analysts caution that the reports, if unverified, should be treated with extreme caution given their serious geopolitical implications.
