Tax Rates On IPL Tickets Go Up To 40%, Will Be More Expensive

Cricket Fans will now have to spend more to watch IPL matches. Now, they will have to pay more for IPL tickets than before. This decision was taken in the GST Council meeting held on September 3. Tickets for IPL and similar games will now attract 40 percent GST.

Earlier, IPL tickets were subject to 28 percent GST. Now, IPL tickets have been included in the highest tax slab i.e. 40 percent. This also includes casinos, race clubs and luxury products. After this decision, the price of IPL tickets will now be affected.

IPL tickets that were previously available for Rs 500 were available for Rs 640 including GST. Which will now be available for Rs 700. Fans will now have to spend an additional Rs 60. Similarly, tickets worth Rs 1,000 will now cost Rs 1,400. Which was previously available for Rs 1,280. Tickets worth Rs 2,000 will be available for Rs 2,800. Which was previously available for Rs 2,560.
