Nature of Service: The Indian Army is a full-time professional force, where soldiers serve full-time. On the other hand, the Territorial Army is a part-time force where volunteers participate in training and military service for two months a year, along with regular civilian life.

Territorial Army Benefits and Allowances

The pay band and salary are similar to the Regular Army, but only when the cadets are active/working.

The Territorial Army salary will increase when 365 days of service (i.e., embodied) are completed.
Pension is provided on completion of twenty years of physical service for serving officers and fifteen years of physical service for JCOs and ORs.
Family pension is also provided along with disability pension as per the regular pay of the Army.
Outfit allowance of ₹ 6000/- for officers at the time of commission and after completion of seven years of physical service or ten years of overall service. Honorary Commissioned Officers are paid ₹ 3200/-, and JCOs are paid ₹ 500.
After completion of service, medical facilities are available for self and dependents.

Candidates whose application form is correct will be called for screening (written test and then interview only if they pass the written test) by the Preliminary Interview Board (PIB) by the respective Territorial Army Group Headquarters. Successful candidates will have to undergo tests in the Service Selection Board (SSB) and Medical Board for final selection.

Essential Eligibility to Join Territorial Army
Eligibility criteria is the most important part before applying in the selection process of Territorial Army recruitment. To join it, the age limit of the youth should be between 18 years to 42 years. No other relaxation has been announced for different categories.
