Prime Minister Modi himself gave this information by tweeting. He wrote, “Today at the public meeting held in Yamunanagar, I met Shri Rampal Kashyap ji of Kaithal. He had taken an oath 14 years ago that I would become the prime minister and he would wear shoes when he met me. I bow to people like Rampal ji and also accept his affection, but I want to request all those who take such oaths – I appreciate your affection… Please add something related to social work and nation building!”

Who is Rampal Kashyap?
Rampal Kashyap is a resident of the Kaithal district of Haryana. He had promised 14 years ago that he would not wear shoes until Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of the country and until he met Prime Minister Modi himself. Today, Prime Minister Modi met him and put shoes on his hand. But when Prime Minister Modi was putting shoes on Rampal, he asked him never to make such a promise in the future.
