In fact, the world’s first motorway has been launched in France. Which wirelessly charges vehicles traveling on the road. In this way, the roads themselves will act as a source of energy. France has launched the world’s first motorway equipped with a dynamic wireless charging system. This allows electric vehicles to be charged while traveling. This eliminates the need to stop the car or truck at a charging station.

The testing has begun on the A10 motorway, located about 40 kilometers southwest of Paris. Several organizations have jointly developed a project called Charge As You Drive. The A10 motorway in France is 1.5 kilometers long and has coils installed in the middle of the road. Electric vehicles passing through these coils will be charged while traveling. The technology has proven successful during testing. It has demonstrated a peak power of more than 300 kW and an average energy transfer capacity of 200 kW.

How does this technology work?
When an electric vehicle passes over electro-magnetic coils installed under the road, electricity is transferred to a receiver on the vehicle through the magnetic field. The biggest advantage of this is that now the electric vehicle does not have to stop to charge. Electricity is exchanged between the transmit coil and the receiver coil installed under the road, which is controlled in real time through sensors and software.
