Supreme Court cancels wrestler Sushil Kumar’s bail in Chhatrasal Stadium murder case

Wrestler Sushil Kumar’s Bail Cancelled: Supreme Court Orders Him To Surrender: The Supreme Court has cancelled the bail of wrestler Sushil Kumar in a murder case. The court has ordered him to surrender within a week. Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar was booked for the murder of wrestler Sagar Dhankar. The Delhi High Court had granted him bail.

Joshini Tuli, the lawyer of the complainant in the wrestler Sushil Kumar case, said, ‘Today, the bail granted to Sushil Kumar was cancelled due to being an erroneous order. That is why the High Court order has been cancelled on the appeal of Ashok Dhankhar, father of the victims. We had challenged that order on the ground that it was an erroneous order. It was not legally correct because whenever Sushil Kumar took interim bail, he tampered with the witnesses. The main witness supported the case. Video footage of the incident was also available, so today this appeal was accepted. Whenever Sushil Kumar came out on interim bail, he tampered with all the government witnesses, including the injured witnesses. That is why they all retracted their statements before the lower court. The case is still going on. Many government witnesses are yet to be questioned in the lower court.’

Sushil Kumar is accused of a murderous attack on junior wrestler Sagar Dhankhar and his friends in the parking lot of Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi on May 4, 2021, in a property dispute. Sagar, who was injured in the attack, succumbed during treatment. Police had arrested.
