Elon Musk Launches XChat: know its special features
Elon Musk Launches XChat: A New Private Messaging Feature With Encryption: Elon Musk, famous for technology and innovation, has now entered the world of messaging. His company, X (formerly known as Twitter) has launched a new chatting platform, XChat. This app is preparing to directly compete with popular apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Signal.
What is XChat?
XChat is a new integrated messaging feature of Elon Musk’s X app, which is designed to be extremely secure, fast, and privacy-focused. Musk claims that this feature will give users the freedom to chat, call, and share files “even without a phone number”.
Top Features of XChat
- End-to-end encryption: Suppose you want to secure your chats with, say, Bitcoin technology, so that no third party ever gets to read your conversations.
- Vanishing Messages: They will just get auto-disappeared after some time.
- Phone number not required: In contrast to WhatsApp, you don’t need a cellphone number to run XChat.
- Video and audio call: Those would be cross-platform calls, and no numbers will be used.
- Fast: Written in Rust, one of the secure languages considered to be highly performant.
- File sharing: Definitely, you can share documents, photos, audio, and video clips.
Launch Details
XChat is currently in beta stage, and only paid users of X (X Premium Members) are getting this feature. Musk has indicated that it will be rolled out to all users in the coming weeks. If XChat lives up to its promises, it can become a challenge for not only WhatsApp but also many other messaging apps.
