ICG Job: Opportunity to become Assistant Commandant in Indian Coast Guard: A great opportunity has come to join the Indian Coast Guard (ICG). The Coast Guard has released a notification for recruitment to 170 posts of Assistant Commandant for the 2027 batch. These recruitments will be done for General Duty (GD), Technical Mechanical, and Technical Electrical / Electronics branches. The application process for this recruitment has started from 8 July 2025, and candidates can apply till 23 July 2025 at 11:30 pm.

Under this recruitment drive, a total of 170 posts will be filled in the Indian Coast Guard. Out of these, the maximum 140 posts are for General Duty (GD), while 30 posts are reserved for the technical branch (which includes engineering, electrical, and electronics).
Academic Qualification and Subject Requirements
Candidates applying for the post of Assistant Commandant General Duty (GD) should have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 60% marks from a recognized university. Also, studying Maths and Physics subjects in class XII is mandatory. For the technical branch (engineering, electrical, electronics), candidates should have a BE/B. A tech degree in the relevant subject, and should have studied Maths and Physics in class XII as well.
Age limit and important instructions
The age of the candidates should be between 21 to 25 years, which will be calculated on the basis of 1st July 2026. Accordingly, the date of birth of the candidates should be between 1st July 2001 to 30th June 2005. Candidates are advised to read the official notification carefully before applying.
salary details
Candidates selected for the post of Assistant Commandant in the Indian Coast Guard will be given a salary under Pay Level-10. According to this, they will get a salary of Rs 56,100 every month. Apart from this, other allowances and facilities will also be provided as per the rules of the Central Government.
Application fee information
To participate in this recruitment process, candidates of the General, OBC, and EWS categories will have to pay a ₹ 300 application fee through online mode. No fee will be charged from SC and ST category candidates. Fee payment can be made through debit card, credit card, or net banking.
