Flood Alert In Delhi After Heavy Rain: The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in Delhi-NCR for the next two days. On Monday, Delhi received heavy rain throughout the day. The water level of the Yamuna has also reached above the danger mark. In such a situation, the risk of flooding in Delhi has increased. A flood alert has also been issued in the low-lying areas. Because now the water level of the Yamuna can increase even more.

Now the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in Delhi on September 2, i.e., today. Delhi will remain cloudy throughout the day today, and there is a possibility of rain with strong winds. Due to the rain, the temperature in Delhi also dropped. Today, the maximum temperature of Delhi is expected to be 31 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature is 22 degrees Celsius. Along with this, an alert of heavy rain has been issued in Delhi for the next 5 days. Along with Delhi, there is an alert of heavy rain in Noida as well.

People got annoyed with the traffic

While the rain in Delhi has given relief to the people from the heat, they are also facing problems. Due to heavy rains, waterlogging has occurred in Delhi. The roads have become submerged. Due to waterlogging, the people of Delhi have to face traffic jams. The low-lying areas are flooded. Pictures have emerged from different areas of Delhi, where water is overflowing.

Roads became ponds in these areas

Due to rain, roads in many areas of Delhi, including Vasant Vihar, Firozshah Road, Delhi-Gurugram Border, South Extension, Akbar Road, Geeta Colony, Minto Bridge, ITO, Patparganj have become ponds, due to which there is a jam and people are facing problems. Similar conditions prevail in many sectors of Noida as well. Now the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in Delhi for the next 5 days. That means Delhiites are not expected to get relief from the rain right now.

The Yamuna water level is above the danger mark

Due to the continuous heavy rains, there is a danger of flooding in Delhi. The water level of the Yamuna has reached above the danger mark. The danger mark in the Yamuna is 205.33 meters, and on Tuesday, i.e., today at 7 am, the water level of the Yamuna was recorded at 205.75 meters. Whereas on September 1, the water level of the Yamuna was recorded at 204.95 meters. Till yesterday, the water level of the Yamuna was slightly below the danger mark, but it increased, and now the water level has reached above the danger mark.

The water level is estimated to reach 206.50 meters

Along with this, lakhs of cusecs of water are being released from Hathinikund Barrage every hour. In such a situation, the risk of flooding in Delhi is increasing continuously. The water level of the Yamuna is expected to reach 206.50 meters at 5 pm today. In view of this, an alert has also been issued regarding the flood in the low-lying areas of Delhi. Meanwhile, the District Magistrate of Shahdara said that due to the rising water level in the Yamuna River, traffic and public movement will be closed on Loha Pul from 5 pm on September 2.
