Political violence in America
A close aide of US President Donald Trump has been shot dead. Conservative activist Charlie Kirk has been shot dead at a public event. Charlie Kirk has been shot dead at an event at a Utah college. Fears of political violence are growing in America. President Trump confirmed the news of death of “great, and even legendary” Kirk. In his address, Trump assured action against those perpetrating political violence.
“My administration will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity and to other political violence, including the organizations that fund it and support it, as well as those who go after our judges, law enforcement officials, and everyone else who brings order to our country,” President Trump said.
A person, who was taken into custody on suspicion of involvement in Kirk’s assassination, has been released, the FBI director Kash Patel said.
Charlie Kirk is the co-founder and CEO of Youth in America. He was shot from a building 200 meters away. Trump said that no one will be spared in the wake of political violence and gun violence. Trump received more support from the youth in the election because of Charlie Kirk. He was well-known among the youth as a podcaster.
