Smriti Mandhana’s Wedding Postponed After Father’s Cardiac Emergency; Fiancé Palash Muchhal Also Falls Ill
After Smriti Mandhana’s Father, Fiancé Palash Muchhal were Taken To the Hospital: The much-awaited wedding of Indian women’s cricket team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and singer Palash Muchhal has been postponed due to a medical emergency. The decision came after Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, experienced heart attack-like symptoms during the wedding preparations.
According to Smriti’s manager, as soon as Shrinivas Mandhana complained of chest pain, an ambulance was called, and he was immediately taken to the nearest hospital for treatment. Due to this emergency, the wedding rituals were halted, and Smriti chose not to continue the ceremonies in her father’s absence.
Adding to the concern, Smriti’s fiancé Palash Muchhal also fell ill. Reports from NDTV stated that Palash was hospitalized for a viral infection and increased acidity, though his condition was not serious. After receiving treatment, he was discharged and is currently staying at a hotel.
Health Update on Shrinivas Mandhana
Speaking to PTI, Dr. Naman Shah, a family doctor, provided details on Shrinivas Mandhana’s condition:
“Around 1:30 pm, he experienced pain in his left chest, medically known as angina. ECG and other tests revealed elevated cardiac enzymes. His blood pressure is also elevated, and he is being closely monitored. Efforts are being made to lower his blood pressure, and if necessary, an angiography may be performed. Smriti and her family are in touch.”
Dr. Shah added that if his condition improves, Shrinivas Mandhana may be discharged from the hospital today.
The sudden health emergencies have understandably caused distress to the families and wedding guests, and the celebrations have been put on hold until both Shrinivas Mandhana and Palash Muchhal fully recover.
This incident underscores the importance of family and health, with Smriti prioritizing her father’s well-being over the wedding festivities.
