BJD supremo undergoes surgery today
BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik Leaves For Mumbai For Surgery : Former Odisha Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik has gone to Mumbai for treatment of cervical arthritis. He will undergo surgery there today.
Patnaik, 78, who also serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the Odisha Assembly, is scheduled to undergo the medical procedure on June 22 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, under the supervision of his personal physician, Dr. Ramakanta Panda.
Naveen Patnaik took to social media to inform the public about his medical travel, stating: “On doctor’s advice, I will undergo treatment for cervical arthritis on June 22nd in Mumbai. With blessings from Lord Jagannath and good wishes from the people of Odisha, I will soon be back to serve you all.”

In his absence, senior BJD leader and former minister Debiprasad Mishra will temporarily handle party responsibilities. Mishra, along with the BJD Political Affairs Committee, will oversee the party’s functioning until Patnaik returns.
Due to his illness, prayers for his speedy recovery are pouring in from all over the state. Along with this, workers are visiting temples in various places to offer lamps to Naveen. Lamps are being offered in various temples in Odisha including Delhi.
Workers gathered with MLA Vishwa Ranjan Mallick in Bari. The temple was shaken by the commotion of Haribol. Biju Janata Dal workers along with MLA Vishwa Ranjan Mallick reached the historic Rameshwar temple in Ramachandrapur and offered a collective lamp. After the first puja at the temple, everyone lit the lamp. Many senior party leaders, youth, students and women BJD members also joined Vishwa Ranjan Mallick. Along with this, Devi Prasad Mishra and other workers also offered lamps at the Lingaraj temple.
