If the FASTag is not correctly put on the car, the FASTag will be blacklisted immediately. A new rule has arrived.
FasTag Rule: NHAI To Immediately Blacklist Loose FASTags: If you have not installed the FASTag properly on your vehicle, then be cautious now. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has clearly said that such drivers will be blacklisted. NHAI said that strict action will now be taken against those who do not install the FASTag properly on the car’s windscreen, that is, keep it loosely or hold it in the hand. This is called ‘loose fastag’.
If the FASTag is not installed properly, it becomes difficult to scan it at the toll plaza. This slows down the process of toll collection. The queue becomes long, and sometimes wrong charges are also levied. This also causes trouble to other people. NHAI said in a statement that in the coming time, new toll systems like ‘multi-lane free flow’ will be implemented. In such a situation, the FASTag must be installed correctly on every vehicle, so that the toll system works properly and there is no error.
Fastag will be blacklisted immediately
Now, toll collection agencies and vehicle owners have been instructed to immediately inform if a vehicle has a loose FASTag. A separate email ID has also been provided for this. NHAI said that whenever information about a loose FASTag is received, that FASTag will be immediately blacklisted. This step has been taken so that work at the toll plaza runs smoothly and people do not have to face unnecessary delays and problems.
The government brought a new FASTag pass
The central government has announced that a new annual pass is being introduced for FASTag users. Through this pass, people will be able to travel directly without paying tolls again and again. FASTag Annual Pass is a pass that has to be purchased only once a year. Its price has been kept at ₹ 3,000, and it can be purchased from 15 August 2025. This pass will be applicable only for private vehicles like a car, jeep, or van. With this pass, you can either cross the toll 200 times or travel for a year, whichever is completed first.
Where will this pass be valid?
This Annual FASTag Pass will be valid only at toll plazas run by NHAI. This means that this pass will not work on state highways, private toll roads, and state expressways. Toll will have to be paid separately there. This facility is beneficial for those who travel on highways daily or often. By paying once, you will get rid of the toll hassle for the whole year.
