Those burning green crackers in Delhi should note when to burn them, what are the rules
The Supreme Court has permitted the use and sale of only green crackers certified by NEERI from October 18 to 21. The court clarified that the ban on other types of firecrackers will remain in place and that strict action will be taken against manufacturers and sellers if the rules are violated.

The court also directed that green firecrackers can only be sold at designated locations by certified companies. Furthermore, QR codes will be mandatory on all green firecrackers so consumers can verify their authenticity.

The court has directed the police and administration to form monitoring teams to ensure that strict vigil is maintained on the manufacturing and sale of green crackers. The court has also set time limits for bursting firecrackers. Green firecrackers can now only be burst between 6 AM and 8 AM and between 8 PM and 10 PM. The court issued this order to control environmental pollution and protect public health.

Following this order, the sale and use of green crackers will be strictly monitored in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR).

- Certified manufacturers of green crackers were allowed to manufacture such fireworks in Delhi-NCR, provided they would not be sold in the NCR.
- These manufacturers must have permits from the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) and the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO).
- These are allowed to be sold only at designated places.
- List of green crackers approved by NEERI will be allowed for bursting
- Use only in the specified location
- NEERI will collect random samples
- Shopkeepers will be penalized for violations
- No firecrackers will be brought from outside Delhi/NCR
- No online sales will be made
- Surprise inspections will be conducted
