Why was the Mock Drill decision taken again?
Mock Drill To Be Held In 4 States Bordering Pakistan: Preparations are being made for mock drills in the country once again. Mock drills will be conducted in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, and Jammu and Kashmir bordering Pakistan. During this, people have been instructed to remain alert. India had last carried out Operation Sindoor just before the mock drill. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Indian Army destroyed the terrorist hideouts.
The central government had announced a mock drill in the country on May 7 amid the ongoing tension with Pakistan. After this, terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir were targeted. Now, once again, a mock drill is going to be conducted in the country. There is a border of about 3300 kilometers between India and Pakistan. Pakistan shares its border with Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. Mock drill will be conducted here.
Pakistan had targeted the areas adjacent to the borders of these states
In fact, after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, India destroyed 9 terrorist bases located in Pakistan and PoK. In retaliation, the Pakistani Army carried out drone attacks in Indian areas, in which 300 to 400 drones were sent. However, the Indian air defense system effectively neutralized these drones. This attack was carried out by targeting many border areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Punjab.
Due to the attempted attack with drones and missiles, blackouts and sirens started ringing in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan. After this, India’s retaliatory action created panic in Pakistan. The ceasefire was initiated by Pakistan at the level of talks between the military officials of both countries, after which the ceasefire was announced.
Shahbaz Sharif confessed to the attack
Later, Pakistani PM Shahbaz Sharif also accepted the Indian attack on Noor Khan airbase. Sharif gave this statement during his speech in a grand ceremony called Youm-e-Tashakur (Thanksgiving). Sharif had said, “At around 2:30 am on the night of 9 and 10 May, the army chief called me and told me that India had attacked us with its ballistic missiles. One missile fell on Noor Khan airbase, and some other missiles fell in other areas.”
