What did the officials say?
A statement from NCERT officials has also come out on this matter. They say that this is only the first part of the book, and the second part is expected to come in the coming months. However, the officials have not clarified whether the portions removed from the books will be included in the second part of the book or not.

Earlier also the part related to the Mughals was shortened in the book:
Earlier too, NCERT had significantly reduced the content on Mughals and Delhi Sultanate, which included detailed descriptions of dynasties like Tughlaq, Khilji, Mamluk, and Lodi, and a two-page table on the achievements of Mughal emperors, but all references to them have been removed in the new books.

Now, in the NCERT book, all the chapters are new, and there is no mention of the Mughals and the Delhi Sultanate.

New chapters have also been added:
New chapters have been added to the social science book “Exploring Society: India and Beyond” on ancient Indian dynasties such as Magadha, Maurya, Shunga, and Satavahana. It focuses on the Indian ethos. The book mentions places like sacred geography, 12 Jyotirlingas, Char Dham Yatra, and Shakti Peethas. Maha Kumbh has also been mentioned in the book.
