Brahma Muhurta, or evening, is considered the most auspicious time for reciting the mantra. First, bathe and wear clean clothes (except black). Then, spread a red cloth on a platform and place an idol/picture of Lord Rama, Mother Sita, and Lord Hanuman. Light a lamp with pure ghee and offer Hanuman a garland, vermillion, red flowers, and laddus (jaggery and gram). Hold water, flowers, and unbroken rice in your hand, repeat your wish and resolve the purpose for which you are reciting this mantra. First, worship Lord Ganesha and your guru.

Now begin the recitation of the Sunderkand by chanting “Ram Siya Ram Siya Ram Jai Jai Ram.” According to religious belief, the Sunderkand should not be left unfinished. Try to complete it in one sitting. Upon completion, recite the Hanuman Chalisa. Finally, perform an aarti to Lord Hanuman and seek his blessings, apologizing for your mistakes. Distribute the offerings to the devotees and consume them yourself.
