The horrific incident at the rally of Tamil Nadu’s Karu actor and TVK party chief Vijay has shaken the country. Vijay has announced a compensation of Rs 20 lakh to the families of the deceased in the incident. He has also announced Rs 2 lakh each for the injured. An FIR has been lodged against two TVK leaders.
Vijay wrote on social media, “Hello to all the people in my heart. My heart and head are not working thinking about what happened yesterday. I don’t know how to express the pain of losing your loved one in such a sad situation. My heart is very sad. This is a loss that I can never make up for. No amount of money is bigger than this loss. I pray to God that those who are injured recover soon.”
The death toll has reached 39. It is expected to rise further. The dead include 9 children and 12 women. More than 50 have been injured. 2 people are on ventilator support. Serious action has been taken in the incident.
This incident occurred due to the crowd at Vijay’s rally exceeding the required number. Permission was given for 10,000 people for Vijay’s rally. But about 30,000 people attended. While people were waiting for the rally, Vijay was late in arriving. Vijay reached the meeting place about 6 hours late. The rally was allowed from 3 pm to 10 pm. But people gathered from 11 am.
Another reason is the crowd and the disbelievers. People were disbelievers after standing for hours at the rally venue. Supporters were running forward to reach Vijay’s bus. At that time, a scuffle started as some people fell down. There was also difficulty in moving the ambulance through the crowd. More than 500 police personnel were deployed at the rally.
