The Bengal Files’ trailer launch cancelled, know what the film’s director said
Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘Bengal Files’ Kolkata Trailer Cancelled: The trailer of Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s film ‘The Bengal Files’ was released on 16 August. This trailer was supposed to be released at noon, but Kolkata Police stopped it by arriving in the middle of the program. This led to an uproar, and the trailer of the film was also released one hour late. Vivek Agnihotri and his wife and actress Pallavi Joshi, have expressed their displeasure and raised questions on this matter. They said that our voice is being suppressed.
Trailer launch event canceled due to political pressure
In a conversation with ANI, Vivek Agnihotri opened up on the cancellation of the trailer launch event of ‘The Bengal Files’ by a major movie theatre chain. The director said, “Film trailers are usually launched in theatres. Our film was also supposed to be launched like this, but as soon as I reached Kolkata airport from the US, I came to know that one of the biggest multiplex chains said that they cannot do it because there is a lot of political pressure. They said that if they launched the trailer of our film, there would be political turmoil. Then we spoke to another multiplex, they also said Sorry, sir, there is a lot of political pressure, we cannot do this. If we had known this from the beginning, why would we come here with so many teams and actors and spend so much money?’
Attempts are being made to suppress our voice
Vivek further said that when the film is based on Bengal, its trailer should also be launched here. I am also not one of those who give up. The trailer of the film was released in the banquet hall of the hotel instead of the theatre. This is happening for the first time. But I want to know why efforts are being made to suppress our voice.
The director, while asking the officials the reason for canceling his trailer launch program, said that on one hand, many FIRs are being registered against me. Members of the ruling party are doing this. It is not that any common man is doing this. Those people are doing this. When we announced the film, the Chief Minister of Kolkata had threatened that we would not allow Bengal Files to enter here. So what is the government afraid of? What is the issue in this film?
