China Unveils World’s First Sodium-Ion Portable Power Station, ‘Pioneer Na

World’s First Sodium-ion Portable Power Station: Pioneer Na: China has taken a major leap in practical technology with the launch of the world’s first sodium-ion portable power station, named ‘Pioneer Na’. Developed by Chinese tech company Bluetti, the device was unveiled at the IFA tech conference in Berlin. Dubbed a “mobile power house,” it’s designed to power and charge multiple devices on the go—making it a game-changer for everyday use, especially in extreme weather conditions.

With a 900-watt-hour capacity and 1500-watt output (expandable to 2250 watts in ‘power lifting’ mode), the Pioneer Na can power high-energy devices like heaters. It supports solar charging up to 1900 watts and offers an impressive battery life of 4000 charge cycles. Weighing 16 kg, it’s portable and built for practical outdoor use, including emergency power backup and camping.

The key innovation lies in its sodium-ion battery, which performs efficiently in freezing temperatures—charging even at -15°C and delivering power at -25°C. Sodium, being cheaper and more abundant than lithium, makes this solution both cost-effective and safer, with lower risks of fire or explosion. While slightly heavier due to lower energy density, the Pioneer Na opens the door to a new era of cold-weather-ready, sustainable power solutions.
