Samir Modi, Brother Of Lalit Modi, Arrested In Delhi On Rape Case : Sameer Modi, brother of fugitive businessman Lalit Modi, was arrested by police from Delhi’s New Friends Colony police station on Thursday in connection with a rape case. The case, dating back several years, resurfaced after a woman filed an FIR on September 10, 2025, alleging a relationship with Modi since 2019. He was detained at Delhi airport while attempting to leave the city and was placed under one-day police custody.

Through his legal counsel, Sameer Modi denied all charges and accused the complainant of blackmail and extortion. According to the lawyer, Modi had already filed police complaints on August 8 and 13, alleging that the woman was demanding ₹50 crore from him. These complaints were reportedly supported by WhatsApp conversations in which the alleged extortion threats were made.

Modi’s legal team has condemned the arrest, claiming it was made in haste and without a thorough investigation. They labeled the allegations as false and fabricated, accusing the woman of misusing legal provisions to harass Modi. The family has urged the media and public to respect their privacy, emphasizing that the matter should be allowed to proceed fairly through the judicial system.
